This is the book we used!
What do I already know about Mars?
If the world were a village is the book we are reading this lesson.
Reflection Paragraph:
Today we read a book named If the World were a village and it was to go with are colinzie Mars unit. This book was very interesting with all the facts I learned, some surprising facts that I thought were, some energy in some countries is a candle. I thought they used candles back in the day only and they have no fresh food. Also, another surprising fact is some kids do not have to go to school. I thought you did but that is only for the US other countries there are different laws. Some things that upset me were that some people drink unsanctioned water and that is not safe. I wish that we in the US would reuse energy more with other materials. I wanted to not waste as much food as I do now when I can be donating it to the poor. I can help by noticing more that I am fortunate to have many valuable things.
My teacher, Mr. Solarz, was fortunate enough to travel to Dubai last week for an education conference and to meet former Top 50 Global Teacher Prize candidates for the Varkey GEMS Global Teacher Prize. He shared his unbelievable experience with us, and here are some things that I learned from our discussion:

Pedro CostaI am Pedro Costa, a pilot from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It would be very important to have a pilot because then how would we fly to mars on a spacecraft with no professional and others that tried would fail to get there. They also would not know all the buttons and gadgets on the spacecraft. I am excited to go to Mars because nobody has ever been there and knows what it is like on the planet!
